KATHERINE WILSON, FILM COMPOSER

Katherine Marilyn Marie Wilson was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to her parents, Wendy Wilson (Martin) and Robert Wilson. She grew up in Vernon, B.C., in the beautiful Okanagan Valley. From an early age she performed in plays and musicals, while working with multiple vocal coaches to train in the Royal Conservatory program. After high school, she crossed the country to Toronto to pursue a career in the arts. Her training at the Randolph College for the Performing Arts (Toronto) ignited her passion. After graduation, Katherine signed with a Toronto based acting agency and began working on small scale projects and commercials.

In 2020 Katherine incorporated her own film production company, Sweet Sorrow Productions, with company partner and director/actress Zoe Cleland. In 2020 they shot their first experimental short, A Wounded Queen, for which Wilson composed the score. In 2023 Sweet Sorrow Productions released psychological feminist thriller, Blueberries for Iris, shot in Newfoundland, Canada, and more recently, The Newcomer (2024), a ghost story which has met with popular acclaim across the international film festival circuit. Katherine co-composed the scores for both The Newcomer and Blueberries for Iris.

As a musician, Katherine has played and written in several projects including current dream-pop band, Her Romance. Since 2023 she has released several singles, streaming across all music platforms.
